Winter 2019

My sabbatical is going well. I’ve been decluttering and organizing my files, while also enthusiastically focusing on self-care. I enjoyed a 21-day Reiki treatment in January and will continue my practice of getting a 4-day treatment each month and a weekly treatment in the remaining weeks of the year. Of course, this is in addition to my daily self-treatment. I’m working with a trainer at my gym and love the progress we’re making with my fitness level. In the next few weeks, the decluttering and reorganizing will have progressed enough for me to start painting on a regular basis. I’m grateful for this sabbatical and the opportunities it provides. All is well.

The following are some accounts of results my students have experienced using their Reiki. I hope you find them as inspiring as I do.

  • One of my students had a diabetic friend recovering from carpal tunnel surgery. This friend had arranged for my student to assist with daily blood sugar testing and insulin injections. My student was eager to try out her Reiki to relieve surgical pain. She noticed that the Reiki was also lowering blood sugar. Over a 3-day period, her blood sugar dropped from 315 to 245 to 150.  With regular post-surgical Reiki, the patient was able to avoid prescription medication and still remain pain-free. To her delight, as well as her doctor’s, healing was accelerated, sutures were removed early and scarring was minimal.
  • Another of my students helped a concert pianist who was unable to perform for 5 months due to tendonitis. After 4 daily Reiki treatments, she was able to play every piece in her repertoire and practice as long and as hard as she wanted. Reiki is mentioned in the credits inside the cover on her first CD.
  • A 9-year-old stepson of one of my students was reaching for a high kitchen cupboard. He slipped, and his hand came down on an electric burner on high heat. His stepfather, an MD, came running and saw second degree burns. He immediately gave the boy 5 minutes of Reiki which relieved all the pain. At bedtime, he gave an additional twenty minutes of Reiki. The next day there was no sign of any burn!

I love sharing these Reiki stories with you and hope they will inspire you to use Reiki on yourself and others. Miracles can happen.

I noticed in Truly Alive your note in Resource Directory that you were on sabbatical and the web address for your blog. I took a UNM Continuing Ed course with you some time ago. It is wonderful you are taking the time for yourself as you give so much to others. Thanks for sharing in your blog.

Thank you, Suzanne. I notice that I’m not doing a monthly blog. I hope to manage a quarterly post in 2020.
